The 101st National Honey Show 24th -26th October 2024
Many Wax Chandlers attended the 101st National Honey Show at Sandown Park Race Course recently both to man our stand at the trade show and to take part in the varied programme of lectures and workshops.
One highlight was our Master being interviewed for the NHS YouTube channel which you can watch below.
Those who came on the Saturday were treated to a tour round the world in honey tasting in a special talk laid on at the event. Our very own Liveryman Sue Carter – national honey judge – took us from St Helena to St Helens in just 45 minutes!
It was great to be able to welcome the Master Apothecaries Dr Julia Neild MBE and her consort Sir Mark Walport for the day. It was a pleasure for the Upper Warden and Renter Warden to show them around the trade show while our Master joined the Deaconess of the Edinburgh Candlemakers Sheila Collins in presenting the trophies and prizes.
The morning started for our workshop with BBKA honey judge Claire O’Brien telling us what makes a good, award-winning honey. In the afternoon Sue let us taste the products.
Thanks also to all those who turned up to man our stand in the trade hall. It was brilliant to find so many attendees interested in our Company.
