This is what every well-dressed Liveryman should have on his tie rack. Or maybe the partner of a lady Wax Chandler. (Christmas present solved).
A very eye-catching Bee Tie.
The original design of the tie was by Past Master, Allan McKay, who sadly passed away in May. I gather it was very popular until stocks ran out some years ago. Allan was keen to reintroduce this ‘country tie’, so lent his to Past Mast er John Chambers who had a contact who made ties, to have it copied.
John has very kindly donated 50 for sale on behalf of the Wax Chandlers’ Charitable Trust. We thought that £25.00 would be a reasonable price.
They can be purchased from our Beadle, Stanley, beadle@waxchandlers.org.uk . So please contact him to reserve one and then pay and collect on your next visit to the Hall.
They of course do not supersede the official Company tie, worn on more formal occasions at the Hall. It is sure however, to spark an interesting conversation when worn elsewhere.
